It costs $100 a day to imprison someone or to give them a second chance at life through the REfire program. Prison often has a revolving door, but with training, effort, and support, REfire graduates are staying free and rebuilding their lives.

REfire doesn’t cost its students anything.

The goal of the REfire Culinary Training Program is to end the cycle of recidivism by resolving barriers to employment for individuals with felony convictions through advocacy, job training, and support services that empower students to acquire and maintain employment in the hospitality industry and to reduce the stigma and policies that prevent people from entering meaningful employment.

With donor support, the program provides students with full scholarships to cover uniforms, ServSafe certification, as well as the food necessary for training.

If we can help people who have formerly been incarcerated in our community stay out of the system and become productive members of our workforce, this initial investment will be invaluable.

Our annual fundraising goal is $50,000, which covers all student tuition and the purchase of necessary food and supplies for training.
