REfire’s fundraising goal is $60,000.

It’s an audacious goal, but we’re committed because if we can help ex-felons in our community stay out of the system and become productive members of our workforce, this initial investment will be invaluable.

Our goal is to provide students with full scholarships to cover their training, their uniforms and their ServSafe certification, as well as the food necessary for their training.

Tuition for one student for eight weeks is $1,000. At present, we can host up to 20 students per course period. This means we need to raise $20,000 specifically for student scholarships.  The remaining funds will cover overhead expenses such as building maintenance, insurance and staff compensation.

What can I do?

Thanks for asking! You can make a tax-deductible donation to REfire through our fiscal agent, the Big Bend Homeless Coalition. Here’s our cost break down:

$300 – One full set of all required textbooks for one student
$200 – Tuition for one student for one week
$110 – One knife set and one full uniform for one student
$60 – One knife set for one student
